Quick face sketches

posted in: Sketchbook, Sketches | 4

Here are a few quick sketches of faces I did yesterday.  I’ve decided that I need to introduce more color into my work on a day-to-day basis and so I pulled out some Staedtler markers that I’ve had stashed away in my desk drawer and did some sketchbook doodling.

Typically, I sketch with a graphite pencil or Col-erase pencils, occasionally even charcoal, so I’m finding it a little more difficult, mentally, to sketch in pen since it’s a more permanent medium.  In the end though, it’s making me be more confident in my lines.  Baby steps with the color, I know, but I hope to become more bold in future sketches.

I keep trying to talk your Mom into colors; must be genetic, lol. Love that you’re pushing yourself and having fun.
