Sea turtles, mate!

by Angela | posted in: Artwork, Illustration, Sketches | 2

It’s always sad to bid farewell to summer, though I’ll admit the beginning of fall is probably my favorite part of the whole year. I love the smell of the fresh, cool air, watching the leaves change color, and curling … Read More

Quick face sketches

by Angela | posted in: Sketchbook, Sketches | 4

Here are a few quick sketches of faces I did yesterday.  I’ve decided that I need to introduce more color into my work on a day-to-day basis and so I pulled out some Staedtler markers that I’ve had stashed away in my desk … Read More

Underwater Color Study

Another Cup O’ Doodle sketch! I approached this one like a color study. It’s always great to practice how color affects the mood and the focal point of an illustration.

I’ve come to realize that pin-up photography is a great place to draw inspiration (pun intended *wink*) for dynamic poses. Capitol Bombshell is a fabulous photography studio that helps you get in touch with your retro, glamour, and bombshell side. … Read More

A not so marble bust

To kick off the start of the new year, I wanted to stretch my rather rusty creative muscles.  There’s a great blog, Cup O’ Doodle, that provides lines, blobs, and stains to those seeking a little creative inspiration. Here’s my first … Read More

Find Me

Angela Ashbaugh is a concept artist and animator. She graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in animation and has work experience in visual development, character design, and animation. She’s thrilled with every opportunity she gets to see her characters comes to life, whether it’s in a video made for online marketing, television, or within an interactive game. Her passion for animation started with a childhood full of children’s and family entertainment and she embraces every opportunity she has to bring that aspect to her work. In Angela’s opinion, one of the great aspects of animation, is the multiple opportunities for group collaboration. Creativity can really skyrocket with successful teamwork. If she’s not sketching, you’ll probably find Angela with her nose in a book or baking something sweet and decadent in the kitchen.
